Dr. Vo holds a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and has published 27 journal articles on different advanced structural materials, resulting in more than 1,300 citations. He holds more than 20 patents and patent applications for advanced aluminum superalloys. Before joining Braidy Industries, he co-founded NanoAL LLC, a materials technology company spin-off from Northwestern University, which was acquired by Braidy in 2018. Under Dr. Vo’s leadership, NanoAL has established partnerships with multiple Fortune 500 companies and has developed several innovative and award-winning, widely-used aluminum products. Before founding NanoAL, Dr. Vo was a scientist at Northwestern University and also spent time at several National Laboratories (Lawrence Livermore, Los Alamos) as a visiting researcher.
