The Braidy Atlas mill will lead the United States aluminum industry as the go-to, low-cost provider of high-quality aluminum rolled products targeting the automotive, food and beverage, transportation, and distribution markets.
Known as Braidy Atlas, the 1.5 million square-foot, fully integrated aluminum rolling mill will be built on 240 acres near Ashland, KY, with an investment of $1.8 billion. This is the largest project of its kind in the region and the first greenfield aluminum rolling mill built in the United States in nearly 38 years. The average age of North American aluminum rolling mills is nearly 60 years, with the oldest being in operation for more than 100 years.
During the first phase of construction, spanning three years, Braidy will create over 1,000 jobs. Once fully operational, the mill will create more than 550 full-time, long-term jobs.
Braidy works closely with local, state and federal authorities, as well as community leaders, to create value. These collaborations, coupled with our significant advantages in technology, people and cost, are the foundation for Braidy to lead the North American aluminum industry as the lowest-cost provider of high-quality aluminum rolled products.
